Renegades beat FaZe in a last round nailbiter on Inferno to move on to the 2-0 pool, while Astralis wrecked Cloud9 16-0 on Train.
The first round went the way of FaZe, on the CT side of Inferno, but Renegades were fast to get back in the match, winning the forcebuy with a fast play on B. Renegades then switched it up, going A and winning against pistols. FaZe then got two to bring it back to a tie as Håvard "rain" Nygaard got a triple to stop Renegades from pushing through short onto A. Teams then traded rounds to go 4-4, but it was FaZe that started to rack up rounds, as Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev got a triple on banana assisted by a flash by Nikola "NiKo" Kovač to go up 7-4.
Renegades were finally to get another one after two opening frags and an A hit to make it 5-8. An indecisive round then cost Renegades as they tried to make a B split without time and were slaughtered going back to A. Renegades were able to win the last round bringing it back to within three, 6-9.
Two early kills by Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács helped his team take the second pistol round, but they once again lost against the pistol buy. This allowed Renegades to get within one, following it up twice, 9-10. Little by little Renegades started to build up momentum, even going up 12-10 before FaZe could get a round after a 3vs3 B execute. Renegades then ran away with it as Aaron "AZR" Ward led both in-game and on the scoreboard, making it 15-11. FaZe brought it down to the wire, planting on A in the thirtieth round in a 3vs2, but Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad with a triple and bomb defuse pushed it over the line for Renegades, 16-14.

The match between Astralis and Cloud9 started on Train with a decisive A site defense by the Danes, who took the lead from the gate. Starting out on the CT side, Astralis showed why they are favorites early on, not giving Cloud9 a chance during the first gun round.
A massive round by William "RUSH" Wierzba was about to get Cloud9 on the board, but Emil "Magisk" Reif was able to ninja defuse in the smoke on B to keep his team on a clean slate, 6-0. Astralis then went on an absolute rampage, smashing the American-European side 15-0 round after round as Cloud9 showed a lack of ideas on the offense. The Danes then closed it out after winning the second pistol round, putting the cherry on top in a clean 16-0.
